Meet the DMP 2SP
The DMP 500/2SP vertical machining center is a new offering from Doosan that sports two spindles and two automatic tool change systems. It was designed specifically for production job shops and high volume parts manufacturers.

The biggest perk, as you already guessed, is that it effectively doubles productivity by machining two parts at the same time. This drastically reduces work loading, unloading and idle times.

One of the most beneficial features on the DMP 500/2SP is its W-axis adjustment of 20mm on the right spindle. So if there’s variability in fixture heights, it’s quickly compensated for. Productivity remains doubled. Plus, the maximum tool length of 300mm allows you to get into those deeper pockets of the workpiece where machining is required.

More Bells & Whistles on the DMP 500/2SP
12,000 RPM direct drive spindles with 87 lb ft of torque are standard, and 8,000 RPM spindles with 211 lb ft of torque are optional. The load capacity (1,763 pounds) and table size (47” x 20.5”) easily accommodate a variety of workpieces and fixtures, and together with the 20.5 inch Y-axis stroke, they offer a machining space well suited for a range of parts.

Dual 24-tool capacity magazines also come standard, and 30-tool and 40-tool magazines are optional. The dual ATCs boast 1.7 second tool-to-tool times, keeping the tools in the cut longer.
